Americana Community Center's mission is to provide holistic services to Louisville's refugee, immigrant and underserved population to build strong and healthy families, create a safe and supportive community and help every individual realize their potential. We help bridge the gap from surviving to thriving through education, family support, youth achievement, and career & financial development. 

Our staff

Last year, Americana's participants represented 66 different countries, speaking 32 different languages.

​Americana believes human dignity is not limited by geography, culture, language or ethnicity. Americana provides programs that promote holistic development in order to preserve and retain the innate value of human dignity.

Youth Programs

Americana's offers an after school program during the school year, and a summer program during the months of June and July. Both programs provide child care, academic and recreational enrichment, and meal times.

Americana Fiberworks​

​The Fiberworks program supports women in the development of entrepreneurial and leadership skills. Participants determine their own projects, choose events and dates to sell the products with the support of the Fiberworks coordinator, and work as a group to meet their goals.

Community Garden

Individual Volunteering

Our garden provides essential food access and security for immigrants, refugees, and underserved families in our community. It offers fresh, culturally appropriate produce that may be costly or unavailable at grocery stores. Many gardeners, with family farming backgrounds, share agricultural knowledge with their children, fostering a sense of belonging. These communal spaces promote food security and intergenerational knowledge exchange, supporting stability in a community facing persistent poverty.

Facilities Rentals

Americana building spaces are available for rent to outside agencies or persons not directly involved with the regular Americana programming. Hourly Rates: 

• Gym $40 (up to 500 people)
• Cafeteria $40 (No Kitchen Use) (up to 200 people)
• Library $30 (up to 50 people)
• Classrooms $25 (up to 25 people)
• Soccer Fields $25

Americana would like to thank Louisville Metro Government’s Office of Resilience and Community Services (RCS), which serves as Louisville’s Community Action Agency and works to “fight poverty and promote compassion, stability, and the empowerment of residents and communities” for partnering with us this fiscal year through the External Agency Fund: Resilience and Community Services. This funding helped to support our Family Education and Fiberworks programs.
