Americana Community Center serves youth through a number of services and programs designed to ensure that youth have the opportunities to develop academically, socially, and personally in order to achieve success in school and in life.
After School Program This program provides a safe and educational environment for school age youth in the South Louisville area. Summer Program The Summer Program runs through most of June and July every year with programming running from eight in the morning until four in the afternoon including ESL, field trips, and educational activities. more soon.
Right to Read is an incentive based literacy program in which participants are paired with reading tutors make reading, behavior, and attendance goals and are rewarded with field trips and other incentive activities like pizza parties. more...
Soccer Much like it is around the world, soccer is very popular at Americana. In addition to soccer activites in other programs, there are also various soccer clinics, camps, and intramural leagues. more...
Basketball Similarily to soccer, basketball is also very popular with the youth. In the fall and winter seasons Americana offers both Boys and Girls teams that play around the community in leagues and tournaments. more...

In addition to the focus on academic achievement, students have the opportunity to get involved with various extra curricular groups that help build character, leadership development, social skills, conflict resolution skills, and other life lessons. Americana also hosts annual youth events such as a talent show, fall carnival, holiday party, and summer programming.
Youth programming could not be possible without quality partnerships including Jefferson County Public Schools ESL K-12; Dare to Care; South Louisville Community Ministries; Every1 Reads; Louisville Metro Office of Youth Development; Boy Scouts; Girl Scouts; Kentucky Center for the Arts; and the Louisville Visual Arts Association.
